Snow at King Pine

Postby sjudice on Mon Feb 15, 2010 11:44 am

Looking at the photos, it looks like there are at least a couple inches of snow on the bike course. Is the snow coverage for the majority of the course, or a little spotty right now? It looks like there are going to be a couple more inches tomorrow. Lets hope that it stalls a bit and throws a little bit more our way. For those of you interested, there is another winter triathlon the day before in Wolfeboro, NH; just on the other side of the lake. My family is doing it as two family teams...the boys against the girls. Should be a fun time as well. Looking forward to Sunday, and hoping for a bunch of snow.

I'll get an update on the conditions once the snow is on the ground. Hopefully by Wednesday. Right now the course is covered and all the trails at King Pine are open. They have a lot of trails covered by trees which helps prevent the snow from melting.

The race in wolfeboro is 1/2 mile snowshoe, 5k xc ski, and 1 mile ice skate at the indoor rink not the ITU and USAT format for a Winter Triathlon which is Run-Bike-XC Ski all on snow when possible, but i'm sure a fun race all the same.
